West Broad Village
21 October 2007The old family farm is gone and West Broad Village is appearing before our eyes. I stopped by the construction sign yesterday and got the current list of tenants that are going to be showing up.
- Old Navy
- Whole Foods Market
- First Market Bank
- Mimi’s Cafe
- Wachovia Bank
- Famous Footwear
That’s the list so far. I’m sure more names will show up on the board before it’s all over with.
UPDATE: Here is the West Broad Village development site. CLICK HERE

I wish they’d add one or more of these: TREES. I’m no tree-hugger, but it looks like a wasteland with shops popping up inside it. I live behind Fire Station 13 and Gayton Elementary and I love that our neighborhood has large tress and shade, and would like to see more green in these new developments.

I happen to fully agree with you. My neighborhood is packed with trees and it was part of the appeal of the neighborhood. It looks like they are planning some greenery, but I would suspect there will be no trees towering over the buildings. I have updated the post with a link to the West Broad Village Master Site Plan as it stands right now.

Several weeks ago, I got in touch with Lisa Earnhardt, Director of Project Management at Unicorp National Development, who’s overseeing the development.
Drop me a line if you want her email. I’m happy to pass it on. She may be able to provide you with updates.

I agree with all of the comments above. We need shade trees in shopping areas when possible. Richmond is hot in the summertime! I haven’t heard when the proposed opening date is for Whole Foods Market. Does anyone know? I love this store and even plan my trips to be sure there is one close by. I was pleasantly surprised on my trip to Boulder, CO- everyone there even gave excellent service too.

Does anyone know details, etc. about a Dave and Busters opening in West Broad Village? I read a short article about Ryan Homes Townhouses in the RTD this morning, and it was mentioned.
D & B is an awesome place - we visit the one in Utica, MI when we visit relatives.
Thanks for any info from anyone!
